Therapy Services
The Therapy Department at Claiborne Memorial Medical Center has a top priority of helping you return to an active lifestyle. We work with you to relieve pain, increase mobility and improve overall function after illness, injury or surgery.
We offer a comprehensive range of both inpatient and outpatient therapy and rehabilitation services. These services are delivered by a team of committed professionals in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Their dedication to helping patients achieve the best possible results truly sets us apart.
The Therapy Department offers:
- Physical Therapy: A physical therapist helps patients work on balance, increase or recover strength, gait train and learn to use a walker of cane. Physical therapy rehabilitates damaged joints, alleviates pain from chronic conditions and assists with preventing further injury.
- Occupational Therapy: An occupational therapist focuses on strength and coordination in your upper extremities and fine motor skills as well as assists patients with daily living activities. They make recommendations on equipment and train patients to use equipment that enables them to perform activites in the home setting to achieve independence.
- Speech Therapy: Speech therapy focuses on relearning and understanding written and spoken language. A speech pathologist may also provide swallowing assessments, education or training. Our therapists work with patients with aphasic difficulties, dysarthria, cognitive and judgment difficulties, non-verbal communication and patients with dysphasia difficulties.
